Steve White
educator/author/  mentor/publisher
founder of Protective Hands Communications
Welcome to the website of Protective Hands Communications. We are a full service communications company offering custom book publishing and educational services. We have nearly 15 years experience publishing new and experienced authors.  However,  what sets us apart from other publishers is definitely our personal service, our pricing and the fact that we only publish books that we are personally  proud to publish. Books that will make a positive difference in someone's life.
As educators, we have a unique and specific focus which is the positive development of black youth and the entire black family. We offer viable, proven solutions to the challenges facing black youth and the black family. I bring 30 years of experience as an educational consultant and coupled with the younger members of our team, we offer a progressive approach to our work. Most importantly, we're not merely theorists, we work directly with the youth, their parents, educators and the community.
Protective Hands Communications is more than a  business, it is a divinely ordained mission and purpose. We look forward to working with you and having you join us on this journey.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, right? Well, the pictures below tells the story of the work we do. The picture on the left is a group photo of graduates from my mentoring program along with some of their parents. Next to it is a photo of one of the many workshops and seminars we conduct for parents, teachers, social service agencies, colleges and universitities and the community . Next to that is a picture of me teaching a class on entrepreneurship at one of the academic summer camps we administer for cities. schools and other organizations. Second row begins with me receiving the Chairman's Award for Mentoring Leadership from 100 Black Men of America. While we certainly don't do this work for awards, I am extremely proud that 100 Black Men recognized my work and to be honored by such an important organization.  The last two photos are cover images of two of the many books we have published. Flutternutter is a children's book that received two silver medals from the Florida Authors and Publishers Association. The Adventures of Princess Jadyn is a beautifully written and illustrated children's book that builds self-esteem and pride in black children. The photos are simply a demonstration of the work we do.  Steve White

About Steve White
Educator * Author * Mentor * Publisher
I have been blessed to have accumulated more than 30 years of unwavering service to the Black community. I have been a mentor for over 30 years. I have been a professional educational consultant working with parents, students, teachers, churches, community and social service organizations, colleges and universities, adult and juvenile prisons since 1990. We started our publishing company in 2004 and published our first book that same year. Since that time we have helped many people from all walks of life become published authors.
Actions speak louder than words! The subject matter that I write about and talk about is validated by the hands-on work that we do. The work we do at Protective Hands Communications is not unproven theory, we do the research and we get in the trenches and work directly with the people we serve. Whether it's our book publishing services or our educational services, we are hands-on all the way, working directly with those we serve. Why Protective Hands Communications?
"When you control a man's thinking, you do not have to worry about his actions. He will find his "proper place" and will stay in it. You do not need to send him to the back door. He will go without being told. In fact, if there is no back door, he will protest until one is made for his use. HIS EDUCATION DEMANDS IT.
Dr. Carter G. Wilson from the book,  Miseducation of the Negro
Our name means that we have placed our lives and our work in God's Protective Hands.  We have embarked on a mission to  do two things. One is to  address and challenge the systems in this country that has by design, relagated  black people to the position of second class status.
Protective Hands Communications exist to aid in the positive development of the black family by providing educational services,   books and other materials that will contribute to the proper education of black children and the entire black family.
As publishers, we publish books that aid our educational work, but most importantly, we help make dreams come true and we help to give people their voice.
The authors we publish are of many different ethnicities, but they all have one thing in common. They all have a story to tell and our job is to help make their book a reality. For most, it's a dream come true, for others it's therapy and for others, it's a gift to family, friends and the world.
